Explanation
It has a simple cubic design. It has always been made of wood, but its superficial appearance has changed since its appearance in Sonic Adventure 2. In gameplay, wooden containers are the most basic of all containers. They are also known for being the most destructible version of all containers, as the player can smash them with a direct attack.
Wooden containers usually act as obstacles that players encounter along the path of various levels. Containers are mostly placed on the ground, usually along walls or edges. They can also be found lying around in the form of walls, pillars, or columns, which the player must work around or break through. They may also be used as stepping stones or stairs to reach higher areas. In some cases, items or gimmicks may be hidden underneath or inside the container (usually item boxes, just like other breakable containers), and the items or gimmicks can be discovered by destroying the container.
There are also several cases throughout the Sonic series where playable characters can use "wooden containers". For example, in Sonic the Hedgehog (2006) and Sonic Unleashed, players can throw wooden containers at enemies to use as weapons.

"Wooden Container" from Sonic Adventure 2.
Wooden containers first appeared in Sonic Adventure 2, and later appeared as a major gameplay object in the enhanced port Sonic Adventure 2 Battle. In this game, wooden containers are simple brown wooden boxes with a black G. U. N. logo on each side. However, in stages where Badniks are the main enemies instead of GUN robots, they are instead painted with a black Eggman Empire mark.
In gameplay, wooden containers can be destroyed with somersaults, punch attacks, kick attacks, and the Vulcan Cannon. However, attacks such as spin dashes and homing attacks are ineffective. Destroying a wooden container in this game gives the player 20 points. However, in Crazy Gadget, the containers in that stage are completely different objects (because they react to the gravity control switch), so they get zero points.
Wooden containers are generally arranged in rows. Some hide item boxes or block passageways.
Sonic Heroes
Wooden Containers from Sonic Heroes
In Sonic Heroes, Wooden Containers are more colorful. In this game, they are light brown wooden boxes with a black circle with a red frame and a white pentagram.
In gameplay, Wooden Containers can be destroyed with almost any attack. As in Sonic Adventure 2, some wooden boxes contain item boxes. However, in this game, no points are awarded for destroying them. Because Wooden Containers often block passageways, they are often stacked in towers of two boxes, sometimes with different types of containers mixed in.
Shadow the Hedgehog
In Shadow the Hedgehog, Wooden Containers are more diverse. In this game, the logos on Wooden Containers vary as well as their coloring. One is for items such as item boxes and rings, the other is for items such as rings and rings. One is specifically designed/crafted to hold faction-specific weapons. Both wooden containers behave the same, except that they may drop items.
In gameplay, wooden containers can be broken with attacks and weapons such as punches and slides. Players can also pick up and carry Wooden Containers and throw them to destroy them. Destroying a WoodenContainer releases its contents, and destroying any type of WoodenContainer will give the player 20 Hero Points or Dark Points, depending on the WoodenContainer's faction.
Opening wooden containers marked with the Eggman Empire symbol will reveal weapons primarily related to the Eggman Empire, opening wooden containers marked with the GUN symbol will reveal GUN weapons, and opening wooden containers marked with the Black Arms symbol will reveal extraterrestrial weapons. Special Weapon Containers are also considered wooden containers due to their many similar properties. These boxes contain special weapons unlocked during gameplay in Story Mode. There are also large GUN wooden boxes located in certain GUN facilities, but these only contain unobtainable weapon ammunition.
The types of wooden boxes that appear in Shadow the Hedgehog are as follows:
Sonic the Hedgehog (2006) [ ]
In Sonic the Hedgehog (2006), wooden containers returned to a uniform appearance.
In gameplay, wooden containers can be destroyed with any melee attack. Moreover, they are the second most common container in the game. Breaking a wooden container in this game will give the player 20 points. Wooden containers are usually found scattered around the action stages, but can also be found in town stages, town missions, and boss battles. If the player is using a playable character other than Silver, the wooden container plays the same role as in the previous game. However, if the player is using Silver, he can pick up the wooden container with his psychokinesis, carry it, and throw it as a throwable that will cause damage if it hits an enemy or something breakable. However, if it hits something after being thrown, the wooden container will be destroyed.
Two types of wooden containers appear in the game, the second is the reinforced wooden container[3], which has the same design as the normal wooden container, but breaks with more hits.
In the game, there are several scenes where wooden containers play a special role. For example, the town's ring festival must break all the wooden containers containing the ring. Also, in the town mission of "Aristo's challenge", you must calculate how many "wood containers" are overlapped and destroy the answer to the "wooden container". And there is a town mission called "Mathematician Training" in which a wooden container with a number of 1 to 9 appears. In this town mission, the player must destroy a certain number of containers of this tree in a specific order. In the shadow version of Kingdom Valley, wooden containers go up and down in the hover craft section. When the hovercraft is lifted in this container, it reverses and cannot be piloted.
